Xigent Solutions is currently seeking a qualified Technical Consultant to be responsible for monitoring and implementation, maintenance and downtime/repair support for a wide range of platform, network and storage projects within Xigent's service offerings. This individual must have at least five (5) years of technical support experience in servers and services, networking (routing and switching), virtualization, storage and server operating systems. Primary responsibilities include maintaining computer hardware, software, and other related systems, performing disaster recovery operations, protecting data, software, and hardware from attack, and replacing faulty hardware components as needed. We work closely with users of our Services to identify potential issues and resolve existing issues. Role playing tasks
- Interact with client IT partners to achieve IT outcomes and facilitate the dissemination of technical and process knowledge.
- Deploy and manage infrastructure solutions that provide core infrastructure, including private cloud, and integrate with services and systems running on virtual private and public cloud infrastructure.
- Implements and maintains security systems and related software, including firewalls, VPNs, intrusion detection systems, and anti-virus/malware software.
- Communicate with team to identify needs, monitor performance and troubleshoot, diagnose and resolve network and system issues.
- Use your technology skills to evaluate new technologies and services, life cycle management and total cost.
- Continually explore new technologies and training opportunities. Ensure SLA compliance for hosted services, including communication with customers and internal resources in the event of service discrepancies.
- Manage multiple improvement initiatives both within and across clients.
- Monitor and analyze infrastructure performance, availability and ability to recommend improvements to support current and future business requirements.
- Establish standards for configuration, installation, maintenance, operation and troubleshooting of infrastructure components.
- Provide customer service support by resolving customer specific events and service offerings.
- Provide emergency care.
- Manage device, hardware and software updates.
- Infrastructure asset management, including maintenance of components and related documentation and technical data.
- prepare, review, update and maintain environmental and operational procedures documentation.
- Keep up-to-date records and expenses for billing and accounting purposes.
- Identify and participate in processes for continuous improvement of service delivery.

Required skills
- The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience supporting data center operations and hands-on experience supporting cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure or AWS for an organization.
- Bachelor's degree in information technology, economics or other similar field is considered an advantage.
- Previous IT consulting or MSP experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Cisco UCS, VMware vSphere, Microsoft Server operating systems, Linux, NetApp, Pure, Nimble, Veeam, Zerto and monitoring tools. Networking experience with Cisco, Fortinet and Merak.
- Experience in implementing, monitoring and repairing complex system environments.

- Cisco UCS boards, fabric interfaces and technologies
- HCI (hyperconverged infrastructure) concepts and platforms (Nutanix, Cisco HyperFlex)
- Storage technologies (SAN and NAS). Platforms like NetApp, Pure and Nimble etc. Experience with backup / restore and disaster recovery technology. Platforms like Veeam, Cohesity and Zerto
