Kforce has a client that is seeking a Server Engineer in Marblehead, MA This is a 6 Month Contract to hire position. The Server Engineer is responsible for developing and executing test plans, installations, and documentation support.
Duties Include:
- Server Engineer plans and manages initial deployments, provides third level support and vendor management for server-based products
- Plans, designs, and recommends platform modifications or additions to increase system stability, capacity, and scalability
- Provides implementation planning, management, and support during production rollouts
- As a Server Engineer, you will monitor and control performance and health of the server resources
- Identifies and diagnoses problems and factors affecting server performance
- Essential functions of the job and percentage: People - 30%:
- Participates in department and enterprise-wide projects with an emphasis on new technology and process improvement to existing systems
- Supports the coordination of incident response events from detection to final remediation
- Provides technical consulting to the Help Desk, application groups and business units and internal customers
- Service - 30%:
- Coordinates training and/or documentation for Help Desk staff and Desktop Technicians
- Provides technical consultation to stakeholders on complex projects
- Provides performance monitoring, technical support and troubleshooting of servers
- Tests and deploys application packages and configurations
- Ensures data integrity through ongoing backups and restores
- Quality/Safety - 20%:
- Performs monitoring, technical support and troubleshooting of servers
- Participates in disaster recovery planning and execution
- Maintains standards and documentation for server and storage environments

Requirements
- One Level 1 (entry level) certification in area of concentration required such as those under Microsoft Fundaments, Citrix Certified Associate (CCA-V) VMware Certified Association (VCA), MCSA, SQL 2016 Database Administration, F5 Certified Technical Professional or CompTIA Beginner, Linux or Red Hat Certified Architect (RHCA); Once proof of initial certification requirements are cleared, further tracking of certification is not required
- Three years of IT experience to include two years of server administration experience in a large, networked environment; An additional two years of experience required in lieu of Level 1 certification in assigned area of concentration below
- Demonstrates the skills and competencies necessary to safely perform the assigned job, determined through on-going skills, competency assessments, and performance evaluations
- Sufficient proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing the English language necessary to perform the essential functions of this job, especially with regard to activities impacting patient or employee safety or security
- Ability to effectively communicate with patients, physicians, family members and co-workers in a manner consistent with a customer service focus and application of positive language principles
- Strong knowledge of Windows Server Operation Systems, Performance Analysis and Active Directory configuration/support, and Windows Networking
- Knowledge of all major storage protocols
- Knowledge of System Center Configuration and ability to remotely deploy applications and configure systems
- Ability to capture and repackage software installs for deployment
- Ability to troubleshoot, perform root cause analysis and provide problem resolution
- Strong project management skill
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee salary is based on factors such as relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, position, location, activity, union and business needs. This area may be changed in the future.
