Kforce has a client seeking an IT Project Manager II in Saint Louis, MO. Overview: The IT Project Manager is responsible for coordinating and completing projects within the Enterprise Application Delivery Team that support the domain's current production needs. This position also serves as project manager for the integration and transformation work required in the Sunrise program. The employee works with sponsoring organizations and key stakeholders to define scope, business objectives and required project deliverables. The candidate oversees all aspects of projects, sets deadlines, assigns responsibility, and monitors and summarizes project progress. The IT Project Manager builds and maintains working relationships with team members, suppliers and other departments involved in projects. The candidate is familiar with various field concepts, practices and operational methods. The employee relies on experience and decision-making ability when planning and achieving goals. They perform various tasks and manage and direct the work of others. A wide range of creativity and room for maneuver is expected.
Norm
- Bachelor's degree and
- years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience; Relevant experience includes managing work (or projects) in the IT sector demonstrating technical and/or business expertise; Achieving resolution of complex technical or business problems and training and leading the project team
- Demonstrated expertise in project management and analysis, negotiation, systems analysis, leadership and team building, customer relationship management, process improvement, strategic planning
- Ability to work independently and proactively
- Proven ability to creatively solve problems and influence outcomes through persuasion, effective communication and relationship building
- Strong knowledge of project management software such as MS Project
- Demonstrated leadership qualities such as conflict/problem resolution
- Ability to organize and work effectively in a matrix organization with cross-functional project teams from various departments and locations
- Excellent organizational and communication skills, both verbally and in writing
- Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new conditions
- Proven ability to manage environments and drive metrics
- Considerable resourcefulness and flexibility are expected

Desired skills:
- PMP certification
- Previous work experience in the higher education technology environment
- Previous experience working in a matrix management structure where you trust other managers to deliver parts of your service

- Experience managing projects leading to new service delivery
