Qualifications:
- Ideal candidates will have experience working with the NYSDOT Construction and Materials Standard Specifications and the NYSDOT Uniform Manual of Accounting (MURK).
- Applicants with NICET, ACI, NACE, NETTCP or ATSSA standards are preferred.
- The candidate must also have good oral and written communication skills
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Keep a valid driver's license with a clean motor vehicle report (MVR) for final review.
- Use a personal vehicle to use on or around the site
- Read, write and understand plans and instructions given in English
- Basic computer skills to create and edit Microsoft Word and Excel documents, create Outlook emails and use SharePoint and Microsoft Teams to communicate with other team members.
- Able to stand for about 3 hours a day up to a minimum of 8 hours
- Can traverse a construction site consisting of uneven ground of varying height and material composition with a height variation of up to 19 inches (mud, gravel, rutted soil, etc.)
- Can climb and leave ladders on platforms 6" to 20" long
- Capable of operating a mechanical aerial lift or bucket to a height of 100 feet
- Ability to wear and use personal fall protection equipment and work at 6” or higher
- Able to use personal protective equipment required by GPI, ie. safety helmets, safety vests, work boots and/or safety glasses/goggles during work.
- Equipment or control samples weighing up to 50 pounds can be moved
