Provides responsible and confidential administrative and technical support for pension, health and welfare, discretionary and other benefit plans offered to Ryder employees. In the job of a compensation specialist, work experience in compensation and payroll is necessary. The Benefits Specialist works closely with HRIS and Payroll to support the Benefits Department. You should have experience reviewing big data reports, identifying anomalies and making direct updates to workday benefits and payroll systems.
Important features
- Compliance functions related to monitoring and maintaining data integrity throughout the business day through weekly and monthly data validation and error reporting processes
- Managing, Researching, and Troubleshooting Pension and01(k) Retirement Plans includes a comprehensive overview of past pension plans and business groups.
- Various responsibilities related to utility functions, ie. pension plan administration, utility communications and special projects
- Support for annual nondiscrimination testing of01(k) plans
Additional obligations
Responsible for researching and resolving issues related to Ryder's retirement and01(k) savings plans. Works closely with third party managers, employees and various corporate functions such as HR, Payroll, HRIS and IT. Uses multiple systems to examine historical information from employees and pension plans to determine pension eligibility. Responsible for dealing with day-to-day health and wellness issues, managing new hires and annual enrollment processes and related staffing issues. Manages weekly and monthly error reports to validate and maintain data integrity between Ryder and vendor systems to ensure benefits meet agreed upon compliance requirements. Also participates in other benefits departmental projects and assists as needed. Performs other duties as directed.

Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree in relevant field is required
- A minimum of three (3) years of direct experience developing and managing HR/benefits projects and systems is required
